<p>PURPOSE:To detect a short-circuit faulty location by analyzing the distortion of a signal waveform directly. CONSTITUTION:A fault control circuit 1-19-1 uses a start signal sent via an RUS 1-15 to generate a switch signal 1-20 and to start a fault detection signal generating circuit 1-19-3 thereby generating a fault detection signal 1-21 being the result of shaping a clock pulse from the clock pulse generating circuit 1-19-2 by an integral number of times. The short-circuit or opening of a transmission line is troubleshooted by inputting a fault reception signal 1-22 being the returned fault detection signal 1-21 sent to the transmission line subject to waveform distortion due to a fault of the transmission line to a fault detection signal analysis circuit 1-19-4. Further, a clock signal 1-23 counted by the clock pulse from the clock pulse generating circuit 1-19-2 is sent to a fault control circuit to operate the distance up to a faulty location of the transmission line.</p> |
