The invention concerns novel fragrance compositions containing benzyl ethers of the formula <IMAGE> I wherein: R1 represents an alkyl group containing one to three carbon atoms, and, R2 represents hydrogen or an alkanoyl group containing one to four carbon atoms. Novel benzyl ethers of formula I also form part of the present invention.
