PURPOSE:To attain the reproduced picture quality with high definition even at the transmission of a prescribed band by compensating the change in the luminance level of a receiver. CONSTITUTION:Negative value detectors 7-1-7-3 detecting a negative value component of an inverted output and a correction matrix circuit 8 to which their negative components are inputted are provided at the reception side of a color picture signal transmission system transmitting a three-primary color picture signal being an output of image pickup while being converted into broad band luminance signal and two kinds of narrow band chrominance signals. The appearence of the negative polarity signal component is detected in three primary color picture signals Rn, Gn and Bn subjected to inversion to the reproduced three primary color picture signals Rr, Gr, Br by limiting the transmission band, the signal level correcting amount is set by a correction matrix 8 depending on the detected amount and the signals are corrected by adding the amount to the reproduced three primary color picture signals Rr, Gr, and Br. Rc, Gc and Bc expressed in Equation are obtained in this way, where K is a prescribed constant larger than ''0'' but smaller than 2 and the luminance Y of the display device is Y=alphaRp+betaGp+gammaBp. |
