PURPOSE:To enable safe fastening of a seat belt, by a method wherein, in a device which is so designed to automatically fasten the seat belt when a driver seats on a seat, a hook, to which the sea belt is locked when no driver is present in a car, is projected and retracted at a timing optimum to riding on and off. CONSTITUTION:When no driver is present in a car, a hook 3 is projected by a driving device 2, and the about intermediate part of a seat belt 10 is locked to the hook 3. A controller 1 is provided for serving to perform automatic motion to move in and out the hook 3 at a given timing, and a first switch SW1, interlocked with a key switch, a second switch SW2, interlocked with a parking brake, a third switch SW3, detecting the presence of a driver on a set, and a fourth switch SW4, interlocked with opening and closing of a door, are provided as a detecting means adapted to decide a projecting and retracting timing. For example, when a door 8 is closed after a passenger seats and a key switch is turned ON, the hook 3 is retracted. |
