PURPOSE:To enable a quiet operation by preventing the surface of an evaporator from freezing by means of a vapor pressure control valve, during the outside air temp. is above a defined temp. when said outside air temp. is above the defined temp., and during a certain period of time when said outside air temp. is below the defined temp., under a compressor driving mode. CONSTITUTION:In the captioned device, a heat exchanging means 1 has a cooling means 2 and a heating means 3, and a heat exchanging quantity controlling member 7 is driven by an adjusting means 6 in accordance with deviation between the outputs of a car room air temp. detecting means 4 and a car room air temp. setting means 5. When it is distinguished that a driving indication is given to a compressor 37 through a distinguishing means 11, if it is judged that the outside air temp. which is detected by a detecting means 12, is below a first predetermined temp. for more than a defined time, through a temp. distinguishing means 13 and a time counting means 14, a control means 17 controls the compressor 37 to prevent the surface of an evaporator 27 from freezing. When the outside air temp. is above the defined temp., freezing is prevented by means of a vapor pressure control valve 41. |
