<p>The guides are of a resilient low friction surface material, pref. elastomeric, and are arranged pref. on adjustable supports along the marginal regions of the filtration screen so that they contact the surface of the screen and the edges of the paper web. Pref. the guides are provided with chanels to which water is supplied to produce a lubricating water-film between the guides and the screen. The guides prevent paper pulp escaping from the screen ensuring a uniform edge of the web.</p> |
