TRIM REFERENCE FOR HELICOPTER FEEL AUGMENTATION SYSTEM

In a feel augmentation system for helicopters in which a force is generated in response to sensed inputs to oppose the pilot's movement of the cyclic stick, a grip mounted thumbwheel controlled trim system is utilized for trimming the no-force position of the stick. Duplicate thumbwheels are provided for both the pilot and copilot which can be operated independently to provide a full control range for each thumbwheel. Each thumbwheel controls a stepping motor which rotates either the case or the wiper of a potentiometer to provide the desired trim position signal.
