PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE HAVING A NOVEL POPPET SEAL

A proportioning relief valve (2) incorporating two novel poppet seal constructions (22, 32). Incorporation of metal reinforced fluorocarbon in a novel U-shaped construction (22) provides a pressure actuated poppet-seat seal. Pressure actuation is maintained for "cracking" and full relief positons of the poppet (16), thereby retaining seal/groove integrity. An alternate deformable poppet seal (32) utilizes a laminated multiple disc construction (38) bonded to both seal groove (36) and poppet (34).
