An apparatus for the production of internally tapered workpieces from a flat sheet-metal blank (B) comprises a multi-roll roll-bending machine with an essentially circular-cylindrical upper main roll (1). Rotatably mounted on one end of the main roll (2) is a ring (3), which has a larger diameter (D) than the abovementioned end of the main roll and to which is assigned a mating ring (4) arranged underneath it and rotatably mounted about an axis parallel to the upper main roll (1). In an apparatus of this kind, a particularly simple and functionally reliable construction is obtained if both rings (3, 4) are manufactured in their outer circumferential region from a flexible material and if at least one of the two rings (3, 4) is provided with an adjustable braking device (5). <IMAGE>
