The dowel body in the form of a sleeve comprises one or more shaft sleeves (1) which can be plugged together to give the desired length. In order to secure the dowel body in the bore and to seal the bore, the rear shaft sleeve (1) is connected to a head piece (2). The front end (1a) of the front shaft sleeve (1) is closed off by a closing-off piece (3). The curing composition is preferably introduced into the shaft sleeves (1) before the dowel body is set into a bore. This permits a visual check of the degree of filling and thus prevents failures owing to incorrect manipulation. <IMAGE>
