1,266,068. Fluidized catalytic cracking. GULF RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT CO. 19 June, 1970 [25 June, 1969], No. 29780/70. Heading C5E. A gas oil feedstock is cracked to gasoline in the presence of a fluidized zeolite catalyst by segregating the feed into relatively low and relatively high MW fractions, charging the fractions to separate cracking zones at 482- 593‹ C. for a residence time of less than 5 seconds during which catalyst and hydrocarbon flow concurrently through the zones so as to avoid formation of a catalyst bed in the reaction flow stream, introducing diluent vapour of the separate zones to reduce the partial pressure of feed, and recovering debutanized gasoline in increased yield from the separate zones. Suitable diluent vapours are steam, N 2 , methane or ethylene.
|
