The instrument tray (60) is formed with retaining ridges (61) stamped out of sheet metal, and retaining brackets (82) provided on the ends. These brackets have retaining rings (87) on whose vertical rods and vertical sections the retaining combs (61) and the bearing walls (84) are fastened by spot welding. Vertical sections are offset inwardly. The retaining combs (61) are inclined. The instrument trays are suitable for stacking and can be efficiently flushed through. <IMAGE>
