PURPOSE:To prevent the interruption of a picture display by using a control data that represents whether the content of a picture included in a character signal sent is updated or not and leaving the displayed data of a picture memory as it is when the content is not updated. CONSTITUTION:Out of characters sent to a character data storing memory part 13, one picture of the character data of the same program as a selected program is stored and a presentation/updating control data (PRC) is read out, being given to a PRC data processing part 16. A control part 12, when a decision result that represents the updating of the content of the picture is obtained from the PRC data processing part 16, drives an updating indication display processing part 17 and a message that instructs whether the display picture is updated or not on a picture plane is displayed. When the decision result that the updating of the content of the picture has completed is not obtained,a processing that continues the picture display by a display data stored already at the picture memory is performed. |
