A vibration coil is mounted along the wall of a supply container. The outlet flaps of the supply container and the flaps of a weighing container located below it act as knockers. Controlled by a process computer, the outlet flap can be opened at different speeds and to different extents. The interaction of these measures is intended to avoid the bulk material settling, even in the case of material which does not flow easily, and to increase the accuracy of metering.
