PURPOSE:To obtain a vapor deposited film having superior decorativeness by treating the surface of a polyester film having a specified surface roughness by corona discharge and by forming a vapor deposited metallic layer on the treated surface by PVD and a colored layer on the metallic layer with an adhesive. CONSTITUTION:Inert and solid fine particles of 0.05-10mum average particle size are dispersed in biaxially stretchable polyester such as aromatic polyester by 0.003-1.5wt% so as to form a large number of fine projections and a stretched polyester film having 0.00-0.030mum surface roughness Ra is obtd. The surface of the polyester film is treated by corona discharge so that circular or elliptical treated parts of 2-50mm diameter or major axis size are distributed ununiformly and irregularly and account for 10-50% of the area of the whole surface. A vapor deposited metallic layer is then formed on the treated surface of the polyester film by PVD such as vacuum deposition and a colored layer of 1-3mum thickness is formed on the metallic layer with one or more kinds of colorants and an adhesive such as an epoxy resin adhesive. |
