<p>Particle feeding apparatus for feeding particulate material on a particle by particle basis. A rotary feed structure (22) rotatable about a horizontal axis is provided with circumferentially spaced suction ports (29). Suction is applied to the ports, for example, via a hollow hub (31) of the rotary structure. A vibratory bowl feeder (21) receives the particulate material and presents paticles to the suction ports such that individual particles are held to the suction ports and transported in an arcuate path. Bowl feeder (21) has a ramp (52) spiralling upwardly from the floor of the bowl to a slot (54) in the peripheral wall of the bowl which receives the rim of rotary structure (22). Particles move in a stream up ramp (52) and are delivered in a generally horizontal stream transverse to upward movement of the suction ports in the rim at the slot.</p> |
