A folding chair for outdoor use has on a chair frame (1) a seat (2), a back (3) and two arms (4). A cover (8) is pulled over a frame (6) to be attached to the chair frame (1) and over the arms (4). The arms (4) project a relatively long way laterally outwards from the chair frame (1, 5). They push out the side walls of the cover (8) a correspondingly long way and thus create freedom of movement under the cover in the elbow region.
