ARRANGEMENT OF AN ELECTRODE FOR ARC FURNACES

The device screws a newly prepared electrode onto the permanent electrode part of an furnace's combination electrode. The device comprises an outer tubular component and an inner tubular component coaxially inside the outer component. The inner component acts as a coupling that connects with the connector at the upper end of the permanent section of the combination electrode. A drive rotates the inner component w.r.t. the outer component about its axis. This device is simple and robust and mates the new electrode onto the permanent upper section with precise and speed.
