PURPOSE:To improve the performance and reduce the occupancy space of an independent suspension device of rear wheel for a passenger car by articulating a longitudinal link, respective upper and lower side lateral links to each other and a car body to constitute a square pyramid having as the apex the articulation of the longitudinal link with the car body. CONSTITUTION:The car body side articulation P0 of a longitudinal link R is disposed in the apex of a square pyramid. The longitudinal link R is articulated with the upper side lateral link U at P1 and with the lower side lateral link L at P2, and the upper and lower lateral links U, L are articulated with the car body at P3, P4 to form a supposed square pyramid having edges E1-E4. Thus, in the deformation of the square pyramid along with the upward and downward movement of wheel, the upper and lower lateral links U, L fulfill the function similar to the double wishbone and the longitudinal link R fulfills the function of trailing arm. Thus, a suspension system suited for a passenger car is provided. |
