PURPOSE:To facilitate automatic log-on setting by setting a start character string automatically only with one input of a sending character string to store/ execute the procedure of automatic log-on. CONSTITUTION:A character string from a host device is stored sequentially in a reception character string storage section 5 in the automatic log-on setting mode. The user identifies an input request character from the host device, operates an operation section 4 and sends a reply character string to the host device. A control section 7 detects an input character from the operation section 4, extracts the character strings of the storage section 5 in the newest order sequentially and stores the result in a start character string storage section 6 automatically. Then the said sending character string is stored automatically in a transmission character string storage section 8 while keeping the corresponding relation of one to one to the start character string stored in the storage section 5. Thus, the host device detects the said sending character string and sends the next message. The user uses the operation section 4 to input the next reply character string according thereto and sends it to the host device. The procedures above are repeated to complete the setting of the automatic log-on.
