<p>Device to take the temperature and/or samples from a liquid-steel bath in the breast (10) of a converter, consisting of a cartridge (24) fixed to the lower end of a pole (22) capable of being inserted vertically into the bath via the opening of the breast. In order to permit its use in an installation where the height available above the breast is limited, the pole (22) is fixed, via its upper end, to a flat link articulated chain (26) whose links are equipped with stops enabling the chain to flex only in one direction when it is straight, the pole being fixed so as to overhang the last link in the chain, the pole and the chain being suspended from a pinion (28) with a horizontal axis over which the chain passes and which can be driven in rotation by a motor (40), guide elements preventing any lateral displacement of the chain being placed immediately below the axis of the said pinion. <IMAGE></p> |
