1. Protective fence with automatic release in case of emergency, comprising at least one group of individual panels (B, C, D) each disposed between two consecutive posts in a series of aligned posts (1), each panel being hinged around an axis on one of the adjacent panels, characterized in that facing the hinge post the panels are equipped with a mechanism (11, 12) for locking the adjacent panel in the closed position, which is retractable and can release the said adjacent panel on rotation of the panel on which the said mechanism is disposed, and in that the only panel in the said group which is not connected to an adjacent panel, i.e. one of the end panels (B), can be locked in the closed position by a remote control device (4).
