Date Apr. 12, 1984.This invention provides a foam fire-extinguishing composition containing (a) dibenzylidene sorbitol, dibenzylidene xylitol or the derivative thereof substituted at the nucleus, (b) a surfactant, (c) a stabilizer, (d) a polar organic solvent and (e) water. The composition of the present invention is suitable for extinguishing a fire of organic solvents, particularly polar organic solvents.
