PURPOSE:To increase contact area of a display electrode with wiring conductor and to improve reliability of electric connection by constituting the wiring conductor of a laminated body comprising a nonoxide substrate layer made of the same material as the display electrode, an intermediate layer for improving adhesive strength, and an electroconductive layer having a smaller resistivity when the display electrode and the wiring conductor are arranged to the surface of the substrate confronting a sealed liquid crystal. CONSTITUTION:When a display electrode 2 of In2O3 or SnO2, and a wiring conductor 4 adjoining to an end of the display electrode are formed on the surface contacting with the liquid crystal of an insulating transparent substrate 1 comprising glass, etc., the wiring conductor 4 is constituted of a laminated body comprising a Cr layer 42 for increasing adhesive strength to the substrate layer 41 made of In, Sn, etc., and a conductor layer 43 of conductors having smaller resistivity, such as Ag, Al, Au, etc. Further, a wiring conductor 4 is provided also to a mounting area 40 for IC of the substrate 1, and an IC element 3 for driving is fixed thereon, which is connected to an input wuring section 4' of an output wiring section of the above described conductor 4. The IC element 3 is also connected to the input wiring sections 4'' of other wiring conductors 4 having similar structure. By the constitution, patterning of wiring conductors 4 are facilitated realizing higher precision, meeting requirements for providing a liquid crystal device having higher resolution. |
