PURPOSE:To almost omit the cleaning operation of a recording electrode of a multistylus head by removing residual toner after the end of cleaning prior to the formation of an electrostatic latent image based upon the multistylus head. CONSTITUTION:A toner removing device 21 is arranged between an electrostatic charger 2 and the multistylus head 3 with a prescribed distance from a recording medium 1. The toner removing device 21 is obtained by arranging an electrode 23 consisting of a metal plate with a prescribed thickness on the tip of a rectangular parallelepiped insulator 22. The electrode 23 is connected to a high voltage power supply and kept at minus potential of several hundreds volt. When the changer 2 is uniformly and positively discharged to the recording medium 1, toner grains 24 are positively charged and repulsed from the positively charged recording medium 1. Thereby, the toner grains 24 are electrostatically attracted to the electrode 23 kept at the minus potential. |
