<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of cracking etc. by detaining a metallic pipe for submarine optical cables to a submarine repeater casing by way of an extensible metallic pipe. CONSTITUTION:The connection part of submarine optical cables is constituted of a polyethylene sheath 1, a tensile wire 2, a detaining part 2a, a metallic pipe 3, a central linear body 4 of fiber aggregate, optical fibers 5, a polyethylene mold 6, an anchor housing 7, a detaining cone 8, a conical metallic pin 9, an adhered part 10 of the tensile wire with adhesives, etc. The metallic pipe 3 is soldered to an extensible corrugated metallic pressure-resistant pipe 11 in a sealing part 12. The side face sealing part 12 of the pressure-resistant metallic pipe 12 is soldered to a slidable conical metallic pipe 9. Since the concentration of stresses upon the metallic pipe 3 are prevented by the elongation or contraction of the corrugated pressure-resistant metallic pipe 11, the occurrence of cracking etc. of the metallic pipe 3 is prevented.</p> |
