PURPOSE:To enable data to be securely received even when the data-transmitting speed is high, by a method wherein the driving condition of a controlling motor is detected, and a busy signal or a ready signal is outputted, in a printer using a type wheel. CONSTITUTION:A CPU1 inputs character codes or the like from a host computer into an interface controlling part 6, and when an interrupt signal of a timer 7 is inputted, the CPU1 calculates the moving quantity and the rotating direction of a type wheel motor 11, and sets the calculated values into a RAM4. Then, a busy signal is outputted to the host computer through a transmission line 5 to prevent new interrupt data from being transmitted, and the timer 7 is started to drive a motor, thereby printing out a corresponding character. When the driving condition is completed, a ready signal indicating that data can be received is outputted. Accordingly, even when the speed of transmission of data with an external controlling part is high, the data can be received securely, can be processed without affecting the driving of the controlling motor, and a normal printing-out operation can be maintained. |
