PURPOSE:To enhance a track density and enlarge a memory capacity by providing a piezoelectric element applying an angular moment to a stepping motor between the stepping motor and a base plate. CONSTITUTION:When a drive current is supplied to a stepping motor 2, a magnetic head 6 is positioned on a prescribed position on a magnetic disk 9 performing a linear movement by a distance proportional to the number of pulses thereof. When an external temperature is different, the magnetic head 6 is not positioned on the same position on the magnetic disk 9 and a little error (thermal off track) if generated. When this error is generated, a suitable direct current voltage is impressed to a piezoelectric element 12, the piezoelectric element 12 is deformed by a small quantity substantially proportional to the impressed voltage and the stepping motor 2 is rotated in a direction shown by an arrow Acentering an attaching screw 13. By this rotating movement, a main shaft 3, or a position of a pulley 4 id dislocated, so that the position of the magnetic head 6 is corrected through a steel belt 5 and a carriage 14. |
