1331504 Supporting plants BEKAERT SA NV 10 Nov 1970 53524/70 Heading A1E [Also in Division E2] A device for mounting on a post 8 to support one or more horizontally strung plantsupporting wires 9 relative to such post comprises a length of springy metal wire or rod which is formed at a region substantially midway between its ends into at least one spring loop 2, crossed over and formed into a spring ring 4 for embracing the post, and again crossed over at position in said ring remote from the loop 2 in such a manner that regions 6 of the wire outward of the crossing position extend away from each other and from the ring, the portion of the device so formed being substantially uniplanar but end portions of the wire adjacent its respective ends extending to one side of the general plane of the ring 4 for engagement with the wire or wires to be supported; in use the ring is enlargeable by squeezing the end portions of the wire towards one another against the bias of the spring loop or loops so as to enable the ring to be engaged over the post. As shown, the end portions 7 are bent at right angles to the portions 6 but in a modification the end portions 7 are L- shaped so that with the portions 6 hooks are formed by the end regions of the device. |
