THE SYNTHETIC ANTIGEN PEPTIDE MANUFACTURING METHOD

Synthetic antigens are prepd. by coupling the synthetic antigenic determinants to carriers, and has an amino acid sequence which have been determined from the DNA sequence of a naturally occurring genome. Thus, a region encoding R-protein is chosen from 3' end of the Mo-MuLV single-stranded RNA genome. The Cterminal 15 residues of this protein are synthesized and attached to keyhole limpet hemocyanin and injected into rabbits and mice to produce antibodies to the R-protein. The antigens are used to produce vaccines, diagnostic or therapeutic antibodies, etc.
