A device for connecting a branch pipe to an opening (2) extending in the longitudinal direction of a sewer pipe (1b) comprises a connection piece having a stub (4) and a plate (3), from which side walls (5, 6) protrude with play into the opening (2) and engage with moulded-on claws (7) under the wall of the sewer pipe (1b). Against the outside of the sewer pipe (1b) there bears at the region around the edge of the opening (2) a frame (8b) which is adapted to the shape of the said pipe, can be braced against the plate (3) by means of stud bolts (9) and tensioning nuts (12) and encloses the side walls, with a sealing ring (14) interposed.
