PURPOSE:To obtain easily a magnetic head chip having opposite azimuth without step difference by slicing two magnetic head chips at the same time so as to provide the same step difference amount while keeping various conditions such as pitch shift or wear of blade the same. CONSTITUTION:Two chip blocks 25 are provided and they are bonded so that each tape contact face is opposite vertically so as to form a couple of magnetic head chips 28 in pairs while slicing the blocks with a prescribed azimuth angle (a). Thus, the magnetic head chips 28 in pairs obtained in this way have the same and opposite azimuth angle (a). Furthermore, the slice face of both the head chips 28 is made identical and since various conditions such as pitch shift and wear of blade are identical, the same step difference is given, no step difference exists between both the head chips 28 adhered to the base and the adjustment of step difference is not required. Thus, the man-hour and the cost are reduced remarkably. |
