发明名称 METHOD OF FABRICATING CERAMIC WORKPIECE
摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent a tool from being worn to make possible to prevent the surface roughness of a workpiece and the efficiency of fabrication from being lowered in an ultrasonic machining process for ceramic workpieces, by using a working liquid which is a mixture of alkaline solution and abrasive grain. CONSTITUTION:Into a solution 4 in which an alkaline material such as, for example, KOH and NaOH is dissolved in water to have a pH value more than 7, abrasive grain such as B4C, having a particle size of about 40mu, is mixed at a rate such as 0.1-2.0g of the abrasive grain to 1g of the solution 5, and therefore, a working liquid is obtained. The thus obtained working liquid is fed from a nozzle 6. Simultaneously, compressed air is jetted from an air fed pipe 7 to apply its jet power into between a workpiece 1 and a tool 2. Since the alkaline solution 4 has a property such that it dissolves ceramic materials, a part of a layer A to be cut is dissolved, and further, sharpened corner sections are dissolved into rounded shapes so that the tool is prevented from being worn substantially, and the fabricated surface of the workpiece is not roughened. Further, it is possible to the rate of the mixture from lowering, and therefore, the working effaces is not lowered.
