PURPOSE:To shorten the printing time of a color printer by providing a printing hammer in a plurality of layers corresponding to ink ribbons of respective colors, thereby enabling a printing at high speed. CONSTITUTION:Printing heads are reciprocated at an interval l1 of printing pins 22 of printing hammers 23 provided in a linearly feeding direction L1. The interval l1 of the pins and the interval l2 of printing hammers 23a1-23an, 23b1-23bn provided in paper feeding direction L2 are provided in the prescribed number of dots by the pins 22. Particularly, the interval l2 is so provided that the printing with the hammers 23a1-23an, 23b1-23bn, 23c1-23cn in the direction L2 is executed with the prescribed number of dots. In case of printing with the hammer 23b2, when demagnetizing coils 27, 27 wound on projecting pieces 251b2, 252b2 are energized to cancel the attracting holding force by the magnetic force, the hammer 23b2 is energized forward by the elastic force of a leaf spring 21b2 to perform a hammering operation. |
