PURPOSE:To enhance the lubrication of the slide surfaces of two members, by adhering single crystal plates made of disulfide solid lubricant or the power thereof on the slide surfaces of the two members to that their cleavage planes are opposed to each other. CONSTITUTION:A single crystal plate made of molybdenum disulfide is attached by adsorption to the slidable outer surface of a stationary member 1 on then side near a movable member 2. Further, a similar single crystal plate made of molybdenum disulfide or the powder 5a through 5d thereof is adhered to the slidable outer surface of the movable member 2 on the side near to the stationary member 1. The cleavage planes of molybdenum disulfide adhered on both slidable outer surfaces are opposed to each other, and therefore, the dynamic frictional coefficients of both surfaces are remarkably reduced so that it is possible to enhance their lubrication. It is possible to obtain a similar effect if tungsten disulfide is used as a solid lubricant instead of molybdenum disulfide. |
