PURPOSE:To reduce a non-metallic inclusion, and to improve a stable operation by reducing the flow velocity of a molten steel flow which is discharged from a dipping nozzle, and the flow velocity of an descending molten steel flow after a short side collision, and also stirring the molten steel on the horizontal surface in its downstream. CONSTITUTION:A static magnetic field generating device 3 for generating a static magnetic field in the direction vertical to the direction of a molten steel flow 2 is provided on a position for pinching the molten steel flow is which is discharged from a dipping nozzle 1 on the outside surface of the side of a long side. By the static magnetic field generated by the device 3, and the molten steel flow 2, a braking force is generated in the direction opposite to the flow of the molten steel flow 2, the flow velocity of the molten steel flow 2 is decreased, a collision energy to a coagulated shell 4 is reduced, and it is quickened to float up large non-metallic inclusion. Also, an electromagnetic stirring device 5 for generating a mobile magnetic field being in parallel to the long side direction is provided on the downstream of the device 3, it is prevented by the cleaning action of the stirred molten steel that a small non-metallic inclusion is caught by the surface of the coagulated shell 4, and also the floating-up of a non-metallic inclusion is quickened. |
