PURPOSE:To improve operability and also to improve production efficiency by using an ultraviolet-ray setting adhesive. CONSTITUTION:A waveguide device is constituted by bonding a waveguide device body 10 to optical fiber terminal parts 30A and 30B after applying the ultraviolet-ray setting adhesive 35 over the opposite surfaces and aligning them optically with each other. Namely, the substrate parts 33 and 33 of a side face that the end surface of the optical fiber core 32 of an optical terminal part 30A faces or substrate parts 16 and 16 of a side face that one terminal of the waveguide 14 of the waveguide device body 10 faces are coated with the adhesive 35, and those surfaces are arranged opposite each other to align the optical fiber core 32 with the waveguide 14. Then, while their positions are protected, the boundary between the waveguide device body 10 and terminal part 30A is irradiated with ultraviolet rays to set the adhesive within several tens of seconds. Then, an optical fiber terminal part 30B is also bonded to the waveguide device body 10 similarly to obtain the waveguide device consisting of the three bodies integrally. |
