Trans-2-(1-(3-chloro- allyloxy amino) propylidene-5-(2-ethylthio propyl) cyclohexane-1,3-dione (I), and its salts are new. R'=3-trans chloroallyl.To prepare (I) 2-propionyl-5-(2-methyl thio propyl) cyclohexane -1,3-dione (II) is contacted with 3-trans chloro allyloxyamine (III).This reaction is pref. effected in an inert organic solvent at 0-80 deg.C. (I) may be applied pre- or post-emergence, the application rate being 0.02-60 kg/ha, esp. 0.02-10 kg/ha. Suitable formulations may be solid, liq. or aerosols, contg. conventional adjuvants and diluents
