Method of producing and exploiting a video film, characterised by the sequential recording, on a single magnetic track, of successive snatches A1 A2..., B1, B2...., C1,C2... of the various sound messages A, B, C..., of lengths equal to the quotient of the duration of an image by the number of sound messages to be recorded and by the selecting, when playing the track, of the snatches corresponding to any one of the said sound messages and the sequential reproducing of each snatch a number of times equal to the said number, without noticeable time shifting between the snatches thus reproduced, and by the fact that the selecting and multiplying of the snatches of sound message are done by loading a plurality of memories of the FIFO type with different lengths and by switching, within a member determined as a function of the message selected, paths for transferring the contents of these memories to the output for exploiting the sound message. <IMAGE>
