TEMPERATURE CONTROL DEVICE FOR HOLDING FURNACE FOR HORIZONTAL AND CONTINUOUS CASTING

PURPOSE:To decrease the discontinuous change of molten metal flow and to prevent the remelting of a solidified shell by adopting a thyristor control system for an electric power control device and continuously changing the electric power for holding by the signal from a voltage and current controller. CONSTITUTION:The signal from a thermocouple 4 is converted to 0-10V signal by a temp. controller 8 and is converted to 0-525V by the voltage and current controller 12. The signal is further converted to electric power by a thyristor type electric power regulating circuit 13 which impresses the electric power value necessary for an inductor coil 5. An electric power setter 11 for holding is preliminarily constituted of the min. required electric power and addition power (controller output). The electric power value is continuously changed in the above-mentioned manner and since the power is divided to the power for holding and the control power, the change speed thereof is small and the discontinuous change of the molten metal flow is decreased.
