PURPOSE:To prevent a transferred image from being blurred, by a system wherein an image thermally transferred immediately before reversing the feeding direction of a recording paper is maintained in contact with a thermal transfer ink tape for a predetermined period of time so that the transferred image is completely fixed in the period of the set time. CONSTITUTION:When transferring the next color image after a recording operation for a one-screen amount of images, it is necessary to return a recording paper 9 to an initial position. In this case, the recording paper is stopped for a period of time required for feeding the recording paper by a distance E, before returning the paper to the initial position. Thereafter, a thermal head 4 is separated from a platen 1, a turning torque in the clockwise direction (the direction of an arrow B) is given to the platen 1, and a drum 7 is rotated counterclockwise (in the direction of an arrow D) to thereby return the recording paper 9. By suspending the feeding of the recording paper for a predetermined period of time when reversing the feeding direction of the paper, an image transferred onto the recording paper at the paper of the distance E is completely fixed. Accordingly, the transferred image at that part is not blurred. |
