Automatically controlling dimensions of extrusions - using e.g. light detect changes in profile or pressure variations just before nozzle outlet to signal to controls

The gauged profile of an emerging extrusion is monitored and any change is detected. In the process any deviation from the desired dimensions of the profile, or any deviation from the desired pressure at one point, is recorded and a corresponding change is made in the speed of a traction device or in the speed or heating of the extruder. ADVANTAGE - The process makes no actual contact when measuring the extruded dimensions but any change in the proportions of the extrusion is detected immediately and corrected.
