For ease of introduction of the ends of intake pipes (1, 2) of a prefabricated intake pipe arrangement into the inlet ports (6, 7) in a cylinder head (5) despite the course of the axes (3, 4) of the intake pipes (1, 2) at a final axis angle ( alpha ), the end areas (8, 9) of the inlet ports (6, 7) are locally expanded at angles which correspond to half the axis angle ( alpha ) (Fig. 1). <IMAGE>
