A desk computer (11) for storing and processing work which has been carried out, to issue invoices for skilled trades businesses, is described. It is provided with an input device (51) with an alphanumeric key pad (29), a function key pad (27, 27') and a value key pad (28), a microprocessor (56), which is connected to a read-only memory (66) for the control program, an output device with a display field (61) and with peripheral devices which can be selectively triggered between the input and output devices and the microprocessor and its associated read-only memory (66). Several one-digit or multiple-digit values can be freely assigned to each value key (31) of the value key pad (28). Values are assigned to individual value keys (31) using a first group of keys (30) of the function key pad (27) and the keys (29) of the alphanumeric key pad (26) or the keys of an external keyboard (78). The specified values are stored in RAM (57) by key, so that they can be called individually for processing.
