The invention relates to a nuclear reactor plant which has a HT small reactor and a heat-using system arranged above the latter. The HT small reactor and heat-using system are installed in a common pressure vessel. For plants having a HT small reactor, it has been customary to date to provide a cylindrical steel vessel as pressure vessel. Such a pressure vessel is attended by the disadvantage that it is subject to recurring tests, in which the reactor has to be shut down and the primary coolant circuit pressure has to be lowered. As a result, the availability of the nuclear reactor plant described above is lessened. Further disadvantages are that the steel vessel has to be surrounded by a biological shield, and that due to intense radiation the access to components requiring maintenance and repair is greatly complicated. In order to avoid these disadvantages, it is proposed to use as pressure vessesl a concrete pressure vessel, which is known per se, is prestressed axially and in the circumferential direction, is lined with a steel liner having a cooling system, and has on the top a removable vessel closure. Provided in the vessel wall for the purpose of receiving components are a plurality of radial penetrations which are sealed by covers.
