The invention relates to a rolling motor and a method of activating a rolling motor, comprising several working elements arranged about an axis, such as, for example, pistons, the translatory movement of which is converted via a drive mechanism, such as, for example, a wobble ring, into a rotational movement, preferably for industrial robots or manipulators. The object of the invention is to create a rolling motor having high traverse speed and high resolution during positioning. According to the invention, the object is achieved owing to the fact that the connections of the working elements with the pressure medium or with the atmosphere are interrupted before the pressure-medium or atmospheric pressure is reached and to this end further valves, preferably 2/2-way valves or controllable restrictors, are arranged between the working elements and the 3/2-way valves allocated to them.
