PURPOSE:to facilitate laser scribing of a metal layer and improve yield and mass-producibility of a solar battery device by providing insulating layers beforehand by a method such as screen printing of paint beneath the parts of the metal layer which are to be cut by a laser. CONSTITUTION:A transparent conductive film formed on a transparent insulating substrate 1 and an amorphous layer formed on the transparent conductive film are patterned to form transparent electrodes 21, 22... and amorphous layer regions 31, 32... respectively. then stripe shape insulating film s 51, 52... are applied by, for instance, screen printing and baked. A metal layer 4 is formed on the insulating film s 51, 52... by vacuum evaporation or sputtering and cut into metal electrodes 41, 42... by a laser beam so as to make respective unit cells connected in series. If the insulating coating film 51, 52... are formed beforehand, only the metal layer is cut and the amorphous layers and the layers beneath them are protected from cutting. |
