PURPOSE:To increase printing speed by storing information on the completion the application of ink to types in a memory and enabling immediate printing to be carried out without contacting an ink roller when the ink has already been applied. CONSTITUTION:When printing any of characters, first and second counters 15, 16 obtain through arithmetic operation, types which have been inked through their contact with an ink roller 8 following the rotation of a daisy wheel 1. A memory 18 stores inked types. A control circuit 11 which receives a printing command signal from a keyboard 10 and controls a printing mechanism 13 according to a program of a program memory 12 checks whether types are already inked in accordance with data of the memory 18 when the next characters are to be printed. If inked, the control circuit moves types directly to a printing position to perform printing. However, if not inked, the circuit control is performed in such a way that types after being inked by the ink roller 8, are moved to a printing position for printing. |
