PURPOSE:To reduce the superfluity in cylinders and a gear group by providing a primary driven gear which engages with a primary drive gear provided on a crank shaft, and interposing a gear group between said driven gear and cam shaft drive gears. CONSTITUTION:An internal combustion engine is equipped with a crank shaft 8 arranged inside a crank case 4 and a pair of cam shafts 9 fitted freely rotatably to a cylinder head 6, and is provided with a driving 10 between both shafts 8 and 9. In this case, the driving device 10 comprises a primary drive gear 11 provided integrally to the crank shaft 8, a primary driven gear 12 which is provided freely rotatably on the rear side of the crank shaft 8 inside the crank case 4 and is engaged with the gear 11, cam shaft drive gears 13 provided integrally on the cam shafts 9, and a gear group14 consisting of a plurality of idle gears 14a through 14c which are arranged between both gears 12, 13 and are engaged with each other. |
