摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent an engine operating condition from being seriously affected by allowing an ignition to be effected by either an ignition angle corresponding to an engine speed or a specified ignition angle, because the proper ignition timing is not provided by means of an indicator peak position data control when an indicator is judged to be abnormal. CONSTITUTION:An indicator sensor 1 is judged to be absormal when the range of change for an indicator signal level detected by the indicator sensor 1 keeps on continuing to be less than No.1 specified value for more then No.1 specified period of time, or when the range of change for the indicator peak data signal keeps on continuing to be less than No.2 specified value for more than No.2 specified period of time. Then an ignition angle corresponding to an engine speed, or a specified ignition angle thetaIG is retrieved from a data map, which stores the information for the angle in advance in its ROM and the like contained, so as to be set in an ignition angle setting circuit 8 for commanding an engine ignition. Accordingly, this configuration is capable of preventing the engine operating condition from being seriously affected, because the proper ignition timing is not provided by means of the ignition timing control based on the indicator peak position data when the indicator 1 is out of order.
